Slice: a live fruit‑slicing swipe game for your quiz
Slice is a swipe arcade game. Fruit, gold stars and bombs are thrown up the screen, and players swipe to slice them. Slices in a row build a combo multiplier, and a long enough run lights a frenzy that doubles the points.

Hosts launch it as a 45-second break between quiz questions. It needs no question set. The whole room gets the same launch schedule, so it is a fair race, and the best scores at the bell earn quiz points on the leaderboard.
Quick facts
- Players
- 1 or more. Works solo or with a whole room. There is no fixed player cap.
- Length
- A 3-second intro, then 45 seconds of slicing.
- Solo room
- Yes. The launcher sets no minimum, and each player is scored on their own slices, so one player can play it.
How it works
The host launches Slice and a 3-second intro counts the room in.
Fruit, gold stars and bombs are thrown up the field on a schedule that is the same for every player.
Players swipe across the props to slice them. Fruit scores 10 points and a gold star scores 40, multiplied by the combo.
Every 6 slices in a row raises the multiplier by one, up to times five, and every 20 in a row lights a 5-second frenzy that doubles points.
Slicing a bomb costs 30 points and the combo. Letting sliceable props fall untouched breaks the combo without losing points.
At the bell the highest score wins. Slices and then best combo break ties.
Player controls
Swipe a finger across the props to slice them. Slicing three or more in one quick swipe adds a bonus.
Quiz questions
None, it is pure skill. Slice does not use the loaded question set when launched from the mini-game drawer.
Tips for hosts
- Remind players that a bomb costs 30 points and resets the combo, so a careful swipe beats a wild one.
- Point out that long unbroken chains matter more than chasing every prop.
- Tell players to try wide swipes that cut several props at once, since three or more in one swipe pays a stroke bonus.
Frequently asked questions
How long does a Slice round last?
A round is a 3-second intro followed by 45 seconds of slicing. The length is fixed, so the host does not set it. The whole room plays the same seeded schedule of props.
What does a bomb do in Slice?
Slicing a bomb costs the player 30 points (never below zero), resets their combo to zero and ends any frenzy. The round carries on, so a bomb is a setback and never a knockout.
How does the combo multiplier work?
The multiplier starts at times one and rises by one for every 6 slices in a row, up to times five. Every 20 in a row lights a 5-second frenzy that doubles points. A fruit that falls uncut breaks the combo.
