Flap: a live one‑tap flyer for your quiz
Flap is a one‑tap flying game. Players tap to flap a small flyer through a course of gaps in tall towers. Every player flies exactly the same seeded course, and the gaps tighten as the round goes on. The aim is to pass as many gaps as possible before the bell.

Hosts launch it as a 45-second break between quiz questions. It works as pure skill. With a question set loaded it adds answer gates, where players fly through a lane to answer a multiple-choice question and earn bonus points. It suits any room size.
Quick facts
- Players
- 1 or more. Works solo or with a whole room. There is no fixed player cap.
- Length
- A 3-second intro, then 45 seconds of flying.
- Solo room
- Yes. The launcher sets no minimum, and each player's flight is scored on its own, so one player can play it.
How it works
The host launches Flap and a 3-second intro counts the room in.
Every device builds the same course from the round seed, and the flyer starts with a short hover.
Players tap to flap and fly through the gaps. A gap passed scores 1 point, flying through the centre scores a perfect for 2, and a perfect on a streak of three or more scores 3.
A crash is never a fail. The flyer freezes for about 0.9 seconds and respawns just before the gap it missed.
With a question set loaded, some towers become answer gates with lettered lanes, and flying through a lane picks that answer.
At the bell the highest score wins. Gaps passed and then perfects break ties.
Player controls
Tap anywhere to flap. Each tap gives the flyer a short upward lift, and gravity pulls it down between taps.
Quiz questions
Optional. With a question set loaded, multiple-choice questions become answer gates: the first at the fifth pillar, then one every fifth pillar, roughly every seven seconds. A gate shows at most three lettered lanes, and a right answer adds 2 points once the server has graded it. A wrong lane is never lethal. Gate questions are taken from the set and marked as used. With no set loaded, Flap has no gates.
Tips for hosts
- Everyone flies the identical seeded course, so scores compare fairly between players.
- Tell players the gaps tighten as the round goes on, so the last 20 seconds are the hardest.
- Load a multiple-choice set if you want the quiz woven in, and tell the room that a wrong lane only misses the bonus.
Frequently asked questions
What happens when a player crashes in Flap?
Nothing ends. The flyer freezes for about 0.9 seconds as a time penalty and respawns just before the gap it missed, never further along than it was. There is no fail state, so players keep flying until the bell.
How is a Flap round scored?
Each gap passed scores 1 point. Flying through the centre of a gap is a perfect worth 2, and a perfect on a streak of three or more is worth 3. Answer gates add 2 points for each right answer.
Does Flap use my question set?
Optionally. With a set loaded, multiple-choice questions become answer gates along the course, and a right answer adds bonus points. With no set loaded, there are no gates and Flap plays as a pure skill game.
