Hop: a live one‑tap hopper for your quiz

Hop is a one‑tap hopping game. Players tap to hop a small chick forward one row at a time across busy roads, drifting logs and fast trains. Every player crosses exactly the same seeded world, so the traffic is identical on every device. The aim is to reach the furthest row before the bell.

Hosts launch it as a 45-second break between quiz questions. It needs no question set, and it suits any room size.

Quick facts

Players
1 or more. Works solo or with a whole room. There is no fixed player cap.
Length
A 3-second intro, then 45 seconds of hopping.
Solo room
Yes. The launcher sets no minimum, and each player's run is scored on its own, so one player can play it.

How it works

  1. The host launches Hop and a 3-second intro counts the room in.

  2. Every device builds the same world of grass, roads, rivers and rails from the round seed.

  3. Players tap to hop forward one row and swipe sideways to dodge. Taps are limited to one every 160 milliseconds, so mashing does not help.

  4. A splat is never a fail. The chick freezes for under a second and respawns a few rows back, and the best row reached is kept.

  5. At the bell the player who reached the furthest row wins. Fewer crashes break ties.

Tap anywhere to hop forward one row. Swipe left or right to hop sideways.

Quiz questions

Not needed. Hop is a pure skill game and uses no questions, so you can launch it from the Mini-games drawer at any time.

Tips for hosts

  • Everyone crosses the identical seeded world, so scores compare fairly between players.
  • Tell players that rivers need a log under them, and that a train always blinks first.
  • Use it as a quick reset between question rounds, since it works from the first tap.

Frequently asked questions

What happens when a player gets hit in Hop?

Nothing ends. The chick freezes for a moment and respawns a few rows back, but the best row already reached is kept. There is no fail state, so players keep hopping until the bell.

How is a Hop round scored?

The score is the furthest row a player reached. Fewer crashes break a tie, and then fewer hops.

Does Hop use my question set?

No. Hop is a pure skill game, so it plays the same with or without a loaded set.
