Battalion Rush: a live endless charge for your quiz

Battalion Rush is a 3D endless‑runner. Every player steers a squad of soldiers down the same desert highway, shooting numbered barrels to grow the squad while a red crowd charges at them. The furthest distance banked when the timer ends wins.

Hosts use it as a longer mini-game between quiz rounds. It plays as a pure skill game with no question set. With a question set loaded it adds timed reinforcement questions that can grow or shrink the squad, so the quiz is woven into the charge.

Quick facts

Players
1 or more. Every player runs their own squad down the same road. The launcher sets no minimum or cap.
Length
A 4-second intro, the host's chosen run (40 to 180 seconds, 90 by default), then a 5-second outro.
Solo room
Limited. The launcher requires no minimum, and each player is ranked on their own distance, but the game is a competition and is better with several players.

How it works

  1. The host picks a run length and launches Battalion Rush. A short intro briefs the squad.

  2. The squad runs forward on its own and fires automatically. The player only steers sideways.

  3. Reward barrels carry a countdown: shoot it to zero to break the barrel and gain soldiers. Penalty barrels can be defused the same way, or plowed through at the cost of the stamped number of soldiers.

  4. If the squad is wiped out it respawns and replays the identical road, keeping the furthest distance reached.

  5. With a question set loaded, reinforcement drops open a 10-second question window: a right answer adds soldiers and a wrong one costs a few.

  6. When the timer ends the furthest distance wins, with barrels destroyed deciding between squads that finish about level.

Player controls

Steer left and right. On a touch screen drag anywhere or swipe for a quick dodge; on a keyboard use the arrow keys or WASD, or click the frame to steer with the mouse. Tap an option to answer a reinforcement drop.

Host settings

  • Battalion Rush duration, from 40 to 180 seconds (the default is 90).

Quiz questions

Optional. When a question set is loaded, a reinforcement drop appears first 12 seconds into the run and then every 18 seconds, up to 8 in a round, each a 10-second window. A right answer calls in 10 soldiers, falling to 4 for slower answers. A wrong answer costs a few soldiers but never wipes the squad, and ignoring a drop costs nothing. Drop questions are taken from the set and marked as used. Letters and numbers questions become four tap options.

Tips for hosts

  • Pick a longer run if you want the quiz in play: reinforcement drops open 12 seconds in and then every 18 seconds, so a longer run holds more of them.
  • Load a question set if you want the quiz woven in. Without one the game plays as pure skill.
  • Tell players that ignoring a drop costs nothing, so they can keep steering if the road is busy.

Frequently asked questions

How is a Battalion Rush winner decided?

The furthest distance a squad banks by the end of the timer ranks first. Distances are compared in bands of about one second of travel, and barrels destroyed decide within a band. A wiped squad respawns and keeps its best distance. Players must actually steer to score.

Does Battalion Rush use my questions?

Only if you want it to. With a question set loaded it adds reinforcement drops where a right answer grows the squad. With no set loaded, no drops appear and the game plays as pure skill.

How long can a Battalion Rush round be?

The host sets the run from 40 to 180 seconds, with 90 seconds as the default. A 4-second intro and a 5-second outro are added on either side of the run.
