What is Whack‑a‑Target?

Whack-a-Target is a reflex tap game. Targets pop up around the board and you bonk the green ones as fast as you can. The Grumps are decoys, so a careless tap will cost you.

It is one of the mini-games built into Qwiz Rush (sometimes written Quiz Rush), the free live quiz you host from a browser while players join by code on their own devices.

How to play Whack‑a‑Target

  1. The host launches Whack-a-Target and every device shows the same board.

  2. Tap the green targets as soon as they pop up.

  3. Leave the Grumps alone.

  4. Do not swing wildly. A stray tap costs a point.

  5. A green target that slips away unwhacked also costs a point, so stay alert until time is up.

Host settings

  • Launch it from the Mini-games drawer on the host console, between questions or on the leaderboard.
  • Players join on their own devices, and the projector shows the round while it runs.

Scoring

  • Each green target you bonk scores for you.
  • A wild swing costs a point, and so does a green target that escapes.

Tips for Whack‑a‑Target

  • Keep your finger hovering instead of resting on the glass.
  • Pick targets one at a time rather than hunting several.
  • Accuracy matters as much as speed here.
