Tumble Rush: a live obstacle race for your quiz
Tumble Rush is a long game that runs on your loaded question set. Every player runs their own hero through a 3‑D obstacle course on their device, at their own pace. Answer gates block the way: run through the door with the right answer for a speed boost, or slide down a slime chute and try again.

Hosts run it as a set-piece between quiz rounds and choose 5, 7 or 10 minutes, which also sets how many stages the course has. After the first race comes the Answer Floor, where players stand on the right tile as the clock runs out. The run ends at the first finish or the host's time limit.
Quick facts
- Players
- 1 or more. No player cap, and every player runs at their own pace. Like every long game it needs a set with at least 15 multiple-choice, letters or numbers questions (song questions do not count).
- Length
- An 8-second lobby and a shared 7-second opening, then up to 5, 7 or 10 minutes of running (7 minutes by default). The run ends sooner if a player finishes the last stage, then an 8-second podium plays.
- Solo room
- Yes. Nothing requires a minimum number of players. A solo runner plays the whole course, and the run ends when they finish the last stage or the time limit runs out.
How it works
The host picks 5, 7 or 10 minutes and launches, and after the stage card and a 3-2-1-GO every player runs the course at their own pace.
Race stages are broken up by answer gates: a 10-second clock starts as you reach one, and running through the right door gives a short speed boost.
A wrong door drops you down a slime chute and the gate re-arms with a fresh 10 seconds, and if the clock runs out the doors open with no boost.
On the Answer Floor you join the next shared round and stand on the tile with the right answer, while wrong tiles drop you into the ball pit until the next round.
Once your floor rounds are done the exit opens, and the run ends for everyone at the first verified finish of the last stage or at the host's limit.
Players are ranked by distance with finishers first, and the server turns that order into placement points on the main leaderboard.
Player controls
A stick in the bottom-left corner moves your hero, and JUMP (hold for extra height) and DIVE buttons sit on the right. On a keyboard, WASD or the arrows move, Space jumps and Shift or E dives. There are no answer buttons: you answer by running through a door or by standing on a tile.
Host settings
- Run length: 5, 7 or 10 minutes, chosen on the long game's card (7 minutes is the default). It also sets the course: 2, 3 or 4 stages.
- End now: a button on the host's live Tumble Rush card that ends the run early.
Quiz questions
Every gate and floor round is a question from the loaded set. Multiple-choice, letters and numbers questions appear as 2 to 6 doors or 4 floor tiles, letters as whole words; songs are not used, and at least 15 usable questions are needed. Each gate and floor round runs on the core 10-second clock, and floor answers lock in 2 seconds before it ends. Answers buy speed, not points: the score is distance only.
Tips for hosts
- Pick the length to fit the session: 5 minutes is The Spin Mill and the Answer Floor, 7 minutes adds Crown Climb, and 10 minutes adds Hammer Hall before the final climb.
- Tell players a wrong door costs running time rather than points, because the slime chute sends them back to the gate, so reading the question first pays off.
- Warn the room that one runner finishing the last stage ends the run for everyone, so nobody should hang back; the results count how far each player got.
Frequently asked questions
How long does Tumble Rush last?
The host sets a limit of 5, 7 or 10 minutes, and 7 is the default. It starts after an 8-second lobby and a 7-second shared opening. The run ends sooner if a player makes a verified finish of the last stage, and an 8-second podium follows.
Do right answers score points in Tumble Rush?
Not directly. The ranking is distance only: finishers first by finish time, then everyone else by how far they got. A right door gives a speed boost and a wrong one costs time in the slime chute, so answers change how far a player gets.
How many stages and floor rounds are there?
A 5-minute run is The Spin Mill and the Answer Floor, 7 minutes adds Crown Climb, and 10 minutes runs The Spin Mill, the Answer Floor, Hammer Hall and Crown Climb. Each player plays 6 floor rounds on 5 and 7-minute runs and 8 on a 10-minute run.
