Pizza Panic: a live delivery race for your quiz

Pizza Panic is a long game that runs on your loaded question set. Every player rides a pizza scooter around Slicetown on their own device. Each delivery ticket is a question, and the doors of a glowing target block carry the answer options. Riding onto the doorstep of the right door delivers the pizza and earns a tip.

Hosts run it as a centrepiece between quiz rounds and pick a 5, 7 or 10-minute shift. Timed beats keep the room together: VIP orders, a Lunch Rush that doubles tips, the Mayor's shared order and a Mega Pie the whole room fills in the final minute. The projector shows the town and the Tip Jar standings.

Quick facts

Players
1 or more. No player cap. Like every long game it needs a set with at least 15 multiple-choice, letters or numbers questions (song questions do not count). New riders can join until 20 seconds before the bell.
Length
An 8-second pre-roll, then a 5, 7 or 10-minute shift (7 minutes by default), then an 8-second podium before the results board.
Solo room
Yes. Nothing requires a minimum number of players. A lone rider gets their own run of tickets, the Mega Pie target never drops below 6 slices, and a right answer to the Mayor's order adds 3 slices.

How it works

  1. The host picks a shift length and launches, and every device shows an 8-second how-to card before the shift starts.

  2. Each rider gets their own run of tickets: read the order, follow the arrow to the glowing block, then ride onto the doorstep of the door with the right answer.

  3. A right door pays a tip of 10 to 26, bigger for a fast first-try delivery, while a wrong door is locked out and all of that rider's pads lock for 2.5 seconds.

  4. VIP orders, a Lunch Rush that doubles every tip and the Mayor's order, where every rider casts one vote on a shared question, arrive on a fixed timeline.

  5. In the final minute every delivery adds a slice to the room's Mega Pie, and filling it pays a 10-tip party bonus to every rider who helped.

  6. At the bell an 8-second podium plays, then the server totals each rider's tips and turns the order into placement points on the main leaderboard.

Player controls

Steering uses one thumb: drag in the bottom third of the screen (the right side in landscape) like a stick. The scooter cruises on its own, so there is no accelerator; inside a delivery frame, push up to roll onto a doorstep. Pull down and turn to drift, then let go for a boost, and a quick tap sounds the horn. Keyboards use the arrows or WASD. A few numbers and letters questions use a single door: park on its pad and type the answer. A device without 3-D graphics gets a 2-D dispatch board where you tap a door and the rider drives there.

Host settings

  • Shift length: 5, 7 or 10 minutes, chosen on the long game's card (7 minutes is the default).
  • End shift: a button on the host's live Pizza Panic card that ends the shift early.

Quiz questions

Every ticket is a question from the loaded set. Multiple-choice, letters and numbers questions are used and songs are left out; the set needs at least 15 usable questions to launch. Letters doors show whole-word answers. Each rider gets their own shuffled order, while the VIP and Mayor questions are shared by the room. Tickets have no 10-second countdown: speed only changes the size of the tip, and the server grades every delivery.

Tips for hosts

  • Teach the drift before you launch: pull down and turn, then let go for a boost. Arriving faster keeps a ticket's heat high, and heat sets the size of the tip.
  • Watch the next-beat chip on your host card and call out each VIP order: its tip falls across the 40-second window, so the quickest right answers earn the most.
  • Push the whole room to keep delivering in the final minute. The Mega Pie party bonus goes to every rider who added a slice, so it rewards teamwork rather than the leader.

Frequently asked questions

How long does Pizza Panic last?

The host picks a 5, 7 or 10-minute shift, and 7 minutes is the default. An 8-second pre-roll with a how-to card comes first, and an 8-second podium plays after the bell. The host can also press End shift to finish early.

What happens if a player rides onto the wrong door?

That door is locked out for the rest of the ticket (a single typed door can be retried) and all of the rider's pads lock for 2.5 seconds. Their first-try streak resets and a later right answer pays a smaller speed tip, but the base tip of 10 is always paid.

How does Pizza Panic affect the main quiz leaderboard?

Riders are ranked by total tips, including the Mayor and party bonuses. The order then goes through the shared placement ladder: first place earns 3 points, roughly the top 20 percent of the room score (between 3 and 8 players), and every other rider who delivered earns 1.
