What is Hot Potato?
Hot Potato is a team elimination game. A spud with a hidden fuse gets flung between rivals, and whoever holds it when it blows is out. Nobody sees the fuse, and right answers can buy the holder more time.
It is one of the mini-games built into Qwiz Rush (sometimes written Quiz Rush), the free live quiz you host from a browser while players join by code on their own devices.

How to play Hot Potato
The host launches Hot Potato once two or more players are connected.
Players are split into teams and one player starts with the spud.
Fling the spud at a rival before the hidden fuse runs out.
When a question appears, a right answer buys the holder more time.
The last team with players standing wins.
Host settings
- Needs at least two connected players.
- Questions are optional. A loaded quiz set adds the time-buying answers.
Scoring
- Surviving longer ranks you higher.
- Team results combine each player who is still standing.
