What is Hop?

Hop is a one-tap hopping game. You tap to hop forward one row at a time through traffic, drifting logs and trains. Everyone crosses the same world, so it is a fair test of timing.

It is one of the mini-games built into Qwiz Rush (sometimes written Quiz Rush), the free live quiz you host from a browser while players join by code on their own devices.

How to play Hop

  1. The host launches Hop and each device builds the same world.

  2. Tap to hop forward one row, and swipe left or right to dodge sideways.

  3. Cross roads between the cars, ride logs over rivers and wait for trains to pass.

  4. A splat respawns you a few rows back, so you keep playing.

  5. Reach as far as you can before the round ends.

Host settings

  • Launch it from the Mini-games drawer on the host console, between questions or on the leaderboard.
  • Players join on their own devices, and the projector shows the round while it runs.

Scoring

  • Your score is the furthest row you reached.
  • Fewer crashes break a tie.

Tips for Hop

  • Hop on a rhythm instead of mashing, because taps are rate limited.
  • Watch the lane ahead, not the one you are in.
  • A train always blinks before it comes.

Frequently asked questions

How do you play Hop on Qwiz Rush?

Tap to hop forward and swipe to dodge sideways through roads, rivers and rails. A splat respawns you a few rows back, and the player who reaches the furthest row scores highest.

Can I play Hop solo?

Yes. It runs fine with a single player, so you can try it before your room arrives.

Do I need a quiz set to play Hop?

No. It plays without a question set, so you can launch it from the host drawer at any time.
