Boss Raid: a live co‑op wave‑survival game for the whole room
In Boss Raid the whole room is one squad, dropped into a shared blocky arena to defend a single base from waves of mobs, then a boss. Everyone fights on their own device, but all damage and repairs hit the same base, so the room wins or loses together.

Hosts use it as a big co-op finale for a group. Questions are optional: if a set is loaded, they appear mid-fight as Power Surge cards that can clear the screen.
Quick facts
- Players
- 2 or more. The catalog lists a minimum of 2 players. The base's health grows with the room, up to 60 defenders, so bigger rooms are not harder per person.
- Length
- A 9 second briefing, then a 120 second fight. The fight is five waves with a mini-boss mid-run and the boss at the end, then overtime until the bell.
- Solo room
- Limited. The catalog lists a minimum of 2 players, though the base is sized for however many defenders are present, starting from a solo capacity of 300.
How it works
The host launches it and every seated player is registered as a defender of one shared base.
After a 9 second briefing everyone drops into the arena together, with a short window to wall off gaps before wave 1.
Waves of mobs attack the base and each device runs its own swarm, but all damage comes off one shared base health bar.
If the base reaches zero, the whole room is defeated; clearing a wave restores part of each player's own health, and after the final wave the boss arrives.
Once the boss falls, an endless overtime stream keeps coming until the bell, and kills keep scoring.
Players are ranked by their own score, with ties going to more right Power Surge answers.
Player controls
On a touch device, use the left stick to move, drag on the right to aim, and hold FIRE in short bursts. Buttons build a wall, dig a trench, place a torch or mine a wall. On a computer, WASD moves, the mouse aims and click shoots.
Quiz questions
Optional. If a set is loaded, up to eight multiple choice, letters or numbers questions are drawn and appear mid-fight as Power Surge cards. A right answer fires a screen-clearing nova and repairs the shared base; a wrong one jams your gun. Right answers are graded by the server and break score ties. With no set loaded it is pure action.
Tips for hosts
- Remind players to fire in bursts, because spraying overheats the barrel.
- Use the gap between waves to wall off weak spots, then keep fighting; the whole room's base health is shared.
- Load a question set for the best experience: a fast right answer helps everyone, not just the person who answered.
Frequently asked questions
How does the team work in Boss Raid?
There are no separate teams. Every seated player at launch becomes a defender of one shared base. Base health is 300 for one defender plus 300 for each extra, up to 60, and damage from every device comes off the same pool.
How is the score decided?
Each player scores 6 per mob kill and 250 for the boss, and is ranked on their own total. Ties go to whoever has more server-graded right answers. The shared base decides whether the room survives, but placement is individual.
What happens when the base is destroyed?
When the shared base reaches zero health, the whole room is defeated. Right Power Surge answers repair the base, so questions help the group hold on.
